- Shockwave and Flash are separate application programs that must be downloaded and installed in your computer.
- The Shockwave and Flash programs then runs the Action Script "applets" which are downloaded by web pages.
- We consider Shockwave and Flash to involve too much spyware.
- Also, we consider Action Scripts to be increasingly risky, but probably not as risky as ActiveX.
