The Free Market Hypocrites

While we say we are for a free market based upon supply and demand

In reality, we do not want the market to be free;
we want the market to be controlled -- by us.
In reality, we do everything we can to constrain the supply, drive up prices, and make exorbitant profits by gouging our customers.

While we say we want no government intervention

In reality, we are the first pigs to squeal
- when someone copies our product
- when someone promotes open standards (over ours)
- when anyone else tries to pull one of our stunts
- when we take too big a risk and lose
- when we get caught having gambled with other people's money, livelihood, lives, etc.
- when someone else starts to get ahead
- when ....
In reality, we often spend lots and lots of money behind the scenes to get the government to intervene in our favor.
- Stacking the deck
- Greasing the skids
- Clouding the issue
