Discussion Issue:
   Fiscal Conservatism vs. Religious Conservatism
Facts, factoids, concerns, considerations:
  • Some people are "Conservatives" because they believe the government is too big, there are too many taxes, and the government deficet spending is simply steeling from future generations. [1]

  • Other people are "Conservatives" because they believe that fundamental religious and moral values are being compromised in such areas as:
    • Abortion
    • Prohibiting prayer in public schools
    • Sex eduction other than abstinence
    • Homosexual behaviors
    • Theory of evolution
    • Other than literal interpretation of the Christian Bible
    • etc.
  • The latter group (religious conservatives) is fragmented as they do not all share the same views on some of these issues.

  • This is a "fully predictable result" of disagreement within "Conservative" political groups.
