As Social Liberals we believe:
  • The individual person is most important.
  • Government is necessary.  We are willing to accept more government as necessary to achieve and ensure equal rights and opportunities for all persons.
     
  • Every individual person deserves to have:
    • Universal Health Care (as good as any U.S. Senator or business leader).
    • Guaranteed employment for every person who wants a job.
    • A livable minium wage.
    • Equal quality public education K-12
    • Affordable college education
    • Free access for National Parks and other public resources.
    • Free access to the modern internet, e-mail, and other communications facilities.
    • Low-cost child care.
    • Affordable housing
    • Respect
    • Equal opportunities
    • Equal access to transportation systems
    • Freedom from:
      • Intimidation
      • Coercion
      • Fear
      • Discrimination
      • Harassment
      • Harm

  • We support:
    • The benefits of marriage between any two individual persons, regardless of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, or citizenship.
    • Citizenship for anyone who wants it.
    • Automatic citizenship for members of the armed services.
    • Abolishment and prevention of monopolies.
    • Antitrust action wherever needed to equal access to everyone.
    • Government intervention in the economy to provide full employment and social welfare, and protection of human rights.

     
  • We Oppose:
    • Disproportionate incarceration of any ethic group, age group, gender, citizenship.
    • Insurance coverage or cost based upon privatized "credit rating."

The University provides facilities and opportunity for each Student Political Chapter to articulate and explain their particular views and encourages civil dialog among students of various perspectives.
