As the Middle-of-the-Roaders, we believe we are:
  • "Damned if we do" and
  • "Damned if we don't"
  Therefore, we can only:
  • "Aim for the middle" and
  • "Hope for the best" by
  • "Voting for the lesser of the evils"
    if we can figure out who or what that is.
 
If we support: Then the result will be:Note 1
Better transportation Higher taxes we have to pay
Improved security Less freedom
Better schools Higher taxes
More jails In our backyards
Lower taxes Higher fees,
less services,
parks sold to developers,
etc.
More services Bigger government, or
bigger government contracts to high-profit multinational companies,
higher taxes, or
all of the above
Higher business taxes More offshore outsourcing
Affordable housing Absentee landlords,
cheap construction,
Decreased values of neighborhood homes
Consumer protections Higher prices
Federal subsidies for
- local companies,
- local schools,
- local facilities,
- local cities,
- etc.
"Pork barrel" earmarks at taxpayer expense
Eliminate all Federal taxes Turn every State into a welfare state.Note 2

Note 2 - Alaska, for example, already receives $1.85 dollars from the Federal Goverment for every dollar of federal taxes collected.

The University provides facilities and opportunity for each Student Political Chapter to articulate and explain their particular views and encourages civil dialog among students of various perspectives. 
Submitting inputs is strictly optional for the student chapters.
